to the art of Kay de Lautour Scott MFA(Hons), PG Dip SNRT(Dist), BA, TTC.
Kay is a professional artist with an extensive background in teaching.
She has a Master of Fine Arts (First Class Honours) and tutored at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design, Auckland, New Zealand.
Her work has been purchased by the James Wallace Charitable Arts Trust collection of New Zealand contemporary art, The Queen Elizabeth II
Army Memorial Museum, Waiouru, and is in corporate buildings and private collections in New Zealand, Australia, USA and Europe.
She exhibited regularly in New Zealand and now lives in Italy.
Kay works in unique combinations of old and new media
to produce contemporary work which defies classification in any one genre. This ranges from traditional glair and true gesso to resins and multi-layered prints. She also continues to paint in water
colour between major exhibition work.
Much of my work draws on memory in some way; my own memories or the memories

In 2005-6 Kay worked on a large diptych at the Cassino War Memorial Museo, Italy. This work, oil on canvas, depicts the destruction of the towns in the occupied country, and the ruins of La Torre Campanaria, Cassino, 1944.
Kay invites viewers to step momentarily into the shoes of the Italian civilians, to consider how it must have been to flee from your home and return to find the whole town in ruins.
